Pours a clean amber colour with a light beige head, bubbly, average lasting with minimal lace. Smells like an imperial IPA with the dark green grasses and rye spiciness. The taste is where this gives a shock... with the sourness. A nice sour note with berries going to finish rather quickly. Hints of rye lingers with not much hops. Maybe caramel malts in the back. This does not feel like a 6.5% ABV. beer at all. I must say... quite interesting mix of styles.

At a tasting, small bubbly head, hazy muddy orange color, aroma of over ripe oranges, peach apricot and cakey maltiness, flavor of sour bread, dark fruits, metalic and vanila notes, medium empathic malty sourness. Nice and enjoyable.

Can sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Tom L. Hazy orange. Fruity hops, lacto, yeast, a bit of malt, tart. Nice.

A golden ale with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light Brett, light lactic notes, light grassy hops, OK. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light lemon notes, lactic acid, Epsom salts, OK. On tap at Festibière de Gatineau été 2017.

Can. This is a Hoppy Sour whose name means Alley Beer so I took a pic of it in the alley in front of my place in Japan. It was much darker colored than I expected, an opaque amber where I was expecting a cloudy gold. A thin head of off-white foam gives off a lactic toejam and sour citrus aroma that is nearing baby sick unfortunate timing on when I opened this can I hope rather than just an amateurish sour. The taste is tart elderberries and some citrus but mostly sweet tarts and yoghut. A strange brew.

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall off-white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of dry funk, grass, herbal hops and a big dose of yeast and almost a sour, lactic note. Light to Medium-bodied; Noticeable hops up front with a very dry, herbal kick showing some funk and grass along with a sour note at the end that tastes like brett or some spontaneous fermentation and a big yeast strain. Aftertaste shows the funkiness up front and centre with a little malt backbone and a noticeable hop flavour from the grassy and very dry hops. Overall, an interesting and funky beer with a decidedly hop-forward profile that steers toward dry and herbal notes, but also shows a tart and sour flavour at the very end - interesting and complex for sure - doesn’t really hit ’the style’, but shows fairly nicely and is worth trying for something different out there! I sampled this twelve ounce can (355 mL) at Au Coin Duluth in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 18-September-2016 for CA$3,49 sampled at home in Washington on 31-March-2017.

Can: Poured a deep copper color ale with a medium size foamy head with limited retention and some light lacing. Aroma of tart flavours with some herbal hoppy aroma. Taste is a unique mix between some tart notes offset by some herbal hoppy notes with light funky notes also perceptible. Body is full with medium carbonation. Interesting combination of tart and bitter notes with light funky notes making for a unique experience.
