A beer that tastes like a sip of home. Original, honest and full of character! With its reddish-brown chestnut color, the share country beer dark makes the mouth water.

50cl swing top pours a nice clear amber with tan head. The mild aroma is mineral notes, bread, toasted bread, a bit of grainy malts and a faint sense of roasted malts. The taste is a nice mix of malts and other notes. I get modest levels of roasted malts, some minerals, artisan bread, toasted wheat bread and a mild background of prunes and over ripe cherries. It has a pleasing grainy and fresh quality that grounds the whole experience. Tasty indeed.

Copper amber color, lareg white light beige head. Somehow smell iron. Taste not much, though it has a distinctive finish but I don’t quite know what it is.

Draught at their tap in the marketplace in Bayreuth. Malty nose with a touch of caramel and some earthy hops. Rather sweet, malty flavor with caramel. Not enough hops, yet some herbal flavors appear. Slight yeasty esters also come with some unneeded butter. Too sweet and unbalanced.

Flip top bottle (BZ, BB 03/2011)
Dark chestnut brown color, small beige head. Caramel, sweet wort and light grassy hops in the aroma. Palate is quite lame for being over 5% beer. Coca cola sweetness, caramel, dark toffee, malts. Easy going dunkel which is quite one-dimensional, even soda pop like.
