An Imperial Red IPA made with caramel rye malt and many other exotic malts. Made with very generous quantities of Summit and Newport hops, this beer is quite a balanced treat. Our brewers decided they wanted more out of an IPA so they used a Belgian yeast strain giving it a wonderful Belgian like aroma.

12 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, 2012 Winter solstice bottling. Pours fairly crystal clear orange copper color with a small fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of mango, orange, banana, pear, apricot, clove, pepper, bubblegum, caramel, bread, and earthy yeast spiciness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruitiness, spicy esters, and malt notes. Taste of orange, mango, banana, pear, clove, bubblegum, pepper, caramel, toast, brown bread, and earthy yeast esters. Light spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tropical fruit, citrus, banana, pear, clove, bubblegum, pepper, caramel, toast, brown bread, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruitiness, spicy esters, and malt; with a great balance of sweetness/spiciness; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly creamy, slick, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Very smooth to sip for being 9.25%. Overall this is a very nice Belgian IPA. Good balance and complexity of fruity, spicy, and malt notes; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Really digging this one. Pours dark but clear orange with some lacing, head. Aroma of tangerine, floral hops and malt. Medium consistency. Bitter and florals and booze in aftertaste - good complex palate. Tap at brewpub.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of MasterSki. Pours a cloudy amber with a creamy off-white head. Very heavy almost herbal hop aroma. Medium body, carbonation is on the low side, sweet fruitiness, piney hops, slightly oxidized. Bitter finish. Bordering Barley Wine territory. 140212

2010 bottle courtesy of a traveling coworker. The beer is a murky reddish-orange color with a medium fluffy beige head that diminishes steadily. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops, caramel malt and yeast. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, hops, and yeast. underlying sweet caramel throughout. The finish is oranges and bananas with a mild spiced hops aftertaste. Good beer all around.
