An Imperial Red IPA made with caramel rye malt and many other exotic malts. Made with very generous quantities of Summit and Newport hops, this beer is quite a balanced treat. Our brewers decided they wanted more out of an IPA so they used a Belgian yeast strain giving it a wonderful Belgian like aroma.

CBC. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 040513

Tap @ CBC. Clear brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hop, toasted, spices and citrus. Flavour is malt, caramel, hops, medium sweet, little toasted, little citrus, little pine, little grapefruit and medium bitter.

Tap @ BeerTemple. Clear golden color, short head. Aroma of some pine and grapefruit, some biscuity malt. Medium bitter taste. I’m not really impressed by most of the Kuhnhenn brews. They are ok, but not outstanding.

Sample at CBC 2013, Saturday. Clear amber with a small head. Aroma and taste of hops, malt, some light notes of yeast and resin. The finish was bitter. An ok one.

Sampled @ CBC 2013. Clear amber color, virtually no head. Aroma is light to moderately malty, lightly pine, spruce and resin. Taste light to moderately malty, lightly pine and resin, lightly bitter. Not nearly as good as I had hoped. Medium body and carbonation.

Fat på CBC 2013. En Red IIPA med en mörk dov humleprofil, besk, torr, grape- och pomeranssmak och beska, mogna bananer. Saknar lite fruktighet och belgojästen märks inte. Murrig och besk. Bra men inte mer.

Draught. Clear copper liquid with small to medium off-white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet fruit, banana, apples, mango, tangerine, bubblegum and bread. Taste is dry and medium bitter with notes of banana, apples, citrus and biscuit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
