Giant 2 litre “bidon” sampled @ RBWG 2012 – thx to tderoeck – slightly scared about getting into the discussion whether that thing is ugly or a work of art but I think that it is clumsy & the colour makes it look like it is made from plastic – pours a Bordeaux slight purple, an odd colour that seems to be screaming barley wine at me, brief small off-white head (aggressive pour), smells like sweet caramel & dried dark fruits with some bitter spices, taste is sweet caramel, touch syrup, dark fruit, bitter spices, slight vinous, bit rubbery candy quality, some syrup sugar, booze, slick & soft carb, easy going barley wine

2L growler @ RBBWG 2012, Antwerpen courtesy of Tderoeck. Really nice looking Oranje growler.

No head, faintly veiled red-brown beer. Vinous, old wine casks, fruity (red fruit on alcohol mainly), "foxy" aroma. Again very vinous, lots of ethanol and fusels; again typical sweet preserved fruit on alcohol. Perfumed, but nice and complex, worthy of Christoffel. Quite slick and well bodied; alcoholwarming. Nice, hefty and challenging beer. Looks like Leo Brand can rest in peace, the brewery is doing fine. EXCEPT FOR THE PRESENTATION. This eyesore belongs on an Ajax soccerfield, Limburgers ought to be ashamed of themselves!

Boreft Beer Festival 2011: Hazy deep copper colour with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, toffee and bread crust, and a touch of dried fruit. Sweetish toffee and dried fruit flavour with a grassy note and intense bitterness.

Red brown body, beige head. Malty aroma, somewhat sweet, light tart herbal tone. Quite fruity. Flavour malty sweet, light herbal hops, nice bitter touch. Lasting malty and hoppy finish. Nice!
(Draught @ Café Jos, Nijmegen. Scores apply to this version)

Updated 30-1-2012: Rating of bottled version below
Flavour and aroma are quite comparable, but less fruity and with a more dusty character than the draught version, even though there is only 1 month between both ratings. More vinous and a less hoppy finish. The bottle is just ridiculous, the massive size preventing me from buying it for myself after thoroughly enjoying the draught version, and the wrapping giving it the appearance of a cheap plastic bottle only suitable for bringing when the Dutch national soccer team is playing.
(Rating of a 2L bottle @ RBBWG 14 Jan 2012, Antwerpen. Thanks for sharing, Tderoeck!)

Draught @ Cafe Oud Brabant, Oirschot. Hazy almost opaque dark red color, decent sized off-white head. Smell some sweetness, some fruits and something I can’t quite put my finger on. Taste bitter, lightly some overripe fruits. Soft carbo and medium body. Alcohol very well hidden.

Zuckrig süßer Antrunk. Die Malzigkeit kann gegen die Süße nicht anstinken. Unausgewogen, viele Aromen gehen hier leider unter. Da sollte noch dran gefeilt werden! 8/7/7/8//7

On tap at Arends Nest, Amsterdam. Clear red - amber beer. Small pale tan head. Crispish semi dry palate. Sweetish malt, slighty spicy. Bubblegum esters. Finishes crisp with even more spice and a carbonated bite.
