Double Jack is back, exclusively in the Merlin's Mixed Pack. Intensely hoppy yet supremely balanced, Double Jack is our signature double IPA that still stands strong today. The Merlin's Mixed Pack - named after our longtime brewmaster Matt "Merlin" Brynildson - also works its magic with three complementary IPAs: Easy Jack, Luponic Distortion IPA and the West Coast legend known as Union Jack.

Keg at the Firestone Walker Taproom in Marina del Rey, CA. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Big and juicy, with lots of tropical fruits - mango, papaya - along with citrus, and orange in particular. Moderately sweet, with more juicy fruits, and light piney bitterness. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Resinous and juicy on the finish, with lots of gooey tropical fruit character. Lightly warming. Really fresh and juicy overall. Outstanding.

Butelka 0.65l (05.04.2017).

Bottle from Deguchiya. Pours a clear copper with a full finger of head that leaves a nice rim around the edges. Very big orange and tangerine notes that last throughout. A bit of honey as well. Medium body with average carbonation. Clean and well-balanced. Lots of marmalade, honey malt and slight bread-like notes. Finish has more orange and marmalade with some bitterness and a warming finish. A classic west-coast double IPA. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Jack on 22 May 2016 at 21:41 - Score: 8. Original review text: This is a work of art lads....a right proper Yankee double IPA then.

Double Jack 9.5% On tap at Craft Beer Base, I won a bottle opener and got a pint glass! This orange-copper colored brew with a filmy off-white head has a sweet citrusy hop aroma that evokes orange blossoms for me. Full bodied with a round carbonation the taste is bitter pine, caramel and citrus (lemon) rind. Very nice stuff but it packs a punch so drink it carefully! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
