Bright amber with a bubbly head. Big piney, orangey hop aroma. Goes down well. The hops are still a strong piney/citrus blend, the malts are balanced with just a touch of crystal, and a slight biscuity note. Hope that’s not diacetyl I get under there...we’ll find out as it warms. It certainly gets stickier as it warms. I guess at the end of the day you have to take points off for a DIPA you have to chug.

Draft - Sweet caramel and nice citrus orange. Clear gold with a great rich white head. Sweet and malty with candy like citrus hops. Nice mouthfeel. Overall a solid East Coast Balanced IIPA.

On tap at Yaletown, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out notes of toffee, English caramel bready malt, piney hood and some residual sweetness - low on the hops. Flavour brings out notes of toffee, bready malt and sort of what seems like a touch of diacetyl, but it's not too detracting. Decently balanced and simple. Not crazy hop heavy, but not cloying either. Needs work.

Draught at the brewpub
Beautiful color, amber, clean. Nice fruity aroma, citrus fruits, candied fruits, a touch of tropical. Strong but not thick, moderately sweet but not syrupy, nice malt flavor with some light colored caramel, and then a strong hop presence, bitter resiny and fruity; bitter oranges.
Balanced, very clean, nice. The best you can do in the old style IIPA.
