Cask at the brewery; 13oz, 6.90$ + tip
Black color with almost no head. I got a large glass because I can’t remember trying a beer that has been 20% fortified (from 9 to 11% ABV); the JD permeates aroma and flavor, the underlying Stout is relatively dry and thin, the booze exalts the roasted character; surprisingly, there is some sourness in the final, a strange result from the blend. Boozy.
Weird, but worth trying in small quantities, although I would rather have used a sweeter base.
Not bad, but certainly over the top.

On cask at Strange Fellows, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon, alcohol and some roast upfront. Flavour is strange, exactly like you'd expect from pouring bourbon into an imperial stout. Lots of bourbon and heat, leaving only traces of roasted malt behind. Not a good idea. I don't know why they thought it was. Not offensive, just hot and difficult to drink.

Cask - Tons of boozy bourbon notes. Jet brown with a light brown head. Absurd amount of wood and bourbon, but surprisingly not as hot as I would expect. Wood could also be the smoke although not obvious. Big and bold, but no balance.
