Amber colour, bit dull. Thin head. Fairly sweet and caramelly, with a dash of toasty character. Drinks more like regular alt, except it’s way too sweet. Just an unbalanced sweet red ale. I’ve been to Sticke Day at Uerige and this is no sticke.

On tap at St. Augustine’s. Pours a clear amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, fruity, slightly sweet. Roasted malt aftertaste. Not bad.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Mahogany color, clean. Like a true Altbier, it has a moderate amount of nutty and roasty malt, even more nutty in the final, and light residual sweetness, hence it’s good, but I’m missing some soul.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out notes of bready malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is fairly full and well-balanced, with toasted nuts, bready malt and a touch of hops to balance. Very well-balanced and full-flavoured, like an amped up German alt. Very good.

Draft - Nice sweet toffee and grains. Clear Amber with a decent white head. Light sweet grains and Woody twig notes. Nice.
