Imperial Porter brewed with maple syrup and aged in bourbon barrels
Bourbon Barrel Black Maple was first brewed in 2013 as a one-off batch designed to explore the capabilities of our brewhouse. After its long rest in bourbon barrels, Black Maple quickly became a perennial favorite. Now brewed every year in late summer, Black Maple features a diverse grist of barley, wheat, chocolate malt, caramel malt, and a pinch of smoked malt. Locally harvested maple syrup, added late in the boil, adds earthy complexities to this lavish imperial porter.

375ml bottle, 2021 vintage. Maple syrup aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, smoke, roasted malt, vanilla and bourbon. Pours deep brown with a thin tan head that has little retention and essentially no lacing. Starts with rich chocolate, caramel, roasted malt and smoke flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with sticky maple syrup, vanilla and bourbon flavors. Quite excellent infusion of maple without being cloyingly sweet. Wonderful.

On a fucking Wednesday.

Tap@BRUS, Copenhagen - Black pour with beige head. Sweet and light roasted malty aroma and taste, some chocolate and caramel and toffee notes, some sticky sweet maple, bourbon soaked wooden accents into the finish. Lovely.

Damn itβs a nice balanced beer. One of the big stouts that manages to mix modern random shit like maple and make a still fantastic classic style. Beer Temple ams

375ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Earthy, woody, roasty dark maty aroma, hints of oak and vanilla, maple sirup, yeasty spicy overtones with a marmite touch. Taste is dry, woody, roasty dark malty, notes of oak, dark chocolate, later incoming sweet notes of maple sirup, a touch of vanilla, Bourbon; warming, alcoholic finish.
