Pourd a deep amber, was lighter than your average barleywine and the alcohol was well camouflaged. This one was different.

500ml bottle from Holme Growne in Jersey a few years ago & stored since then. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of peach, plums, biscuit, caramel, spice & malt. Medium body. Dry finish has the alcohol well hidden. Very enjoyable

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Clear amber with small off white head. Aroma of sweet malts and fruitiness. Taste has quite a strong herbal bitterness but not astringent, quite boozy, reasonable malts and fruitiness coming through but does lack depth. Below average barley wine but still enjoyed it.
Tasty winter. Not the barleywine I was thinking, but it's good. I think I had it too warm, so chill it.

330ml bottle from The House of Trembling Madness. An amber coloured pour with a thinnish white head on top. Fruity, orange marmalade, malty, caramel, spice taste and aroma. Not at all sweet unlike most Belgian Christmas beers but does have some Belgian vibes. I certainly wouldn't call this a barley wine. It has a pleasant bitterness to it. It's actually quite an enjoyable beer.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours an almost clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aromas of peppery spice, biscuits, brandy, orange zest, marmalade, syrup and warming alcohol. Taste has more of the same notes coming through, some added honey, a little alcohol burn and a light earthy hop lingering on the finish. Medium to full body, fairly low carbonation and smooth oily mouthfeel. This is a decent beer and the alcohol is fairly well hidden considering the strength. Would have this again.

Appearance: cloudy deep gold with a one finger tall white frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: rich esters, biscuit, crackers, dried fruits. Taste: medium dry. Good malt, esters, dried fruits, herbal hops. Hoppy ending. Mouth feel: medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Summary: good

Clear amber beer, short bubbly head. Smells sweet and fruity with a dash of caramel. Flavour is quite sweet initially with fruit, a little Christmassy spice and then it goes very boozy. Quiite sharp though not overpowering. it's not bad but despite the strength it doesn't have the richness that the best barley wines have to go with the blend of flavours.

Shared with Daniel Tomlinson. Creamy off white head stayed on a clear amber body. Malt & caramel aroma. Medium to full bodied, thick, sticky & greasy with a cloying back. Malt, stewed fruit, grape & hoppy citrus tastes.
