Thanks to Toby for this 2015 bottle! 10.5% abv.
It pours a pitch black with an inch of tan foam with a wee bit of lacing.
Roasted malt, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla, bourbon aromas going on. Very impressive nose.
Dark chocolate and roasted malt rule the taste with the vanilla and bourbon not that far behind. It has a nice sweetness that adds rather than subtracts from the overall flavour. A bit of alcohol and thus, some warming.
Full bodied light carbonation makes for a creamy smooth mouthfeel.
Excellent!!

Growler pour at the 10th Boise Imperial Stout Tasting. Dark inky black pour with a small brown head. Aroma is rich with barrel notes, heavy roast, and espresso. Tastes sweet with vanilla and bourbon barrel notes, some dark chocolate and mocha. Very thick and viscous body. Satisfying.

On tap at Growler Guys, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out chocolate, whiskey barrels, and some wood. Flavour is super complex, woody, and bourbony, with the barrels imparting a wonderful complexity. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

On Tap at Pre Funk Boise. Black thick viscous pour. Huge sweet licorice, boozy chocolaty aroma. More roasty and bitter in the flavors. Lots of cold campfire and astringent roasted malts. Not so much a desert sipper that the aroma suggested. Big and bold. very nice

On tap at PreFunk. Pours out dark and syrupy, thin beige ring of head, oak barrel dominates the nose and taste. Lots of roast grain and alcohol burn. Tasty stuff, but sip slowly and enjoy.

Keg at APEX, PDX, 09/11/14. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is coconut, dark chocolate Bounty Bar, vanilla, BBA wood tones, dark toffee fudge. Taste comprises rich roast, more coconut shavings, light spice, dark malts, Bourbon wood tones well represented. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Solid BBA impy!
