Lovibonds 69 IPA is not a boring, middle of the road IPA. We're not quite sure how British IPAs have evolved into such low gravity pints of hop-lessness. 69 IPA is part of a new generation of IPAs, one that fuses the great history of IPA with modern hops and techniques.

You may not be aware, but craft brewers in the States are now producing some of the most remarkable, flavoursome and diverse beers in the world. IPA is a style that they have embraced with vigour and 69 IPA is a nod to our brothers and sisters across the pond, who serve as a guide and inspiration for this beer.

At 6.9% abv, our IPA has the strength of an original IPA, but is infused with the modern aromas and flavours of the USA's finest Centennial and Columbus hops.

Bottle 330ml (ABM)I
Hazy amber color, decent white head, some lace. Pineapple and pine in the nose. Also some funky notes. Medium-bodied. Hop oily, piney and pineapple fruity flavor with long bitterness. 3 months old bottle so probably sharper when really fresh but even now shows its potential. Well-brewed modern ipa.

Served into a half pint glass on tap at Tap East (Jan ’12). Hazy blond to amber in colour. Flowery hoppy aroma and taste, citrus flavours, maybe a hint of toffee/candy in the finish. Mouthfeel was pleasant, very refreshing with a bitter sweet aftertaste. a good beer which I will definately re-visit given the chance!

Growler from the brewery tap in Henley. Amber with a billowing white head, that falls back slowly leaving an attractive lacing; full-on resinous hop aroma; full-on flavour as well with clean hops and some sweet grapefruit over a smooth malty body; the finish is long dry and bitter, with some throat rasing before a final warming glow. This is an excellent IPA.
