Lovibonds 69 IPA is not a boring, middle of the road IPA. We're not quite sure how British IPAs have evolved into such low gravity pints of hop-lessness. 69 IPA is part of a new generation of IPAs, one that fuses the great history of IPA with modern hops and techniques.
You may not be aware, but craft brewers in the States are now producing some of the most remarkable, flavoursome and diverse beers in the world. IPA is a style that they have embraced with vigour and 69 IPA is a nod to our brothers and sisters across the pond, who serve as a guide and inspiration for this beer.
At 6.9% abv, our IPA has the strength of an original IPA, but is infused with the modern aromas and flavours of the USA's finest Centennial and Columbus hops.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ Trade by Fin ]. Light unclear medium to dark orange colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate to heavy hoppy, flowers - elderflowers ! orange - citrus, leather - brett notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, spicy fruit hops, dry, sweet peppery spicy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110602]

On tap at The White Horse, Parsons Green, London. A dark golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Good hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, malty, crisp, pine, dry and quite bitter. Very well balanced and drinkable.

Bottle. Hazy amber/golden with big off-white head. Flavour is malt, hops, flower, citrus, caramel, bitter, grass, fruit and peach.

Bottle at Torben Mathews tasting Århus. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Orange colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Grapefruit notes. Heavy bitter wonderfull flavor. Some maltsweetness aswell. Heavy bitter long complex finish. Creamy palate. World class.

Bottle @ Torben Mathews tasting. Huge head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich hops, quite malty, caramel, citrus. Hardly any bitterness. Very smooth.

[330ml bottle from Alfred the Grape, Marlow] Amber with a small and diminishing white head. Slight fizz. Sweet pine dominates with a restrained citrus hop bitterness. Good resinous mouthfeel with some dryness in the finish. Excellent all round in fact, a top notch IPA. Nice one!

Bottle that Loz picked up from the brewery & shop for me 31.12.10 consumed 02.01.11 Pours dark gold/amber with a light haze and white head. Some honey flavour’s flood through but with a charge of bitter lemon to follow, nice bittersweet combination. Crisp, clean and very citrussy, good solid lingering bitterness throughout, dry a little towards the end. Another contender for one of my favourite beers of the Christmas & New Year period and a much better effort (IMHO) than the Reserve Wheat Wine which was frankly a slight disappointment I felt. On tap at the Rake. Hazy amber beer, ghost of a white head. Slightly syrupy palate and moderate carbonation. Salty hops, traces of orange and grapefruit. A tiny bit of sweet orange underneath. Lingering bitter finish. Really liked this first few mouthfulls but it rapidly got chewy. Original rating 3.2.
30th July 2011>br>ChrisOs ’Donkey Dork Lord’ Pre-GBBF Tasting. A bottle this time. Hazy gold beer, litlle white head. Softish semi dry palate. Nice hops. Rich orangey marmalade with a touch of peach and a trace of grapefruit. Satisfying. Semi dry finish. Mildly marmalade bitter aftertaste.

From tap at the Rake. Pours hazy orange with a fully gone head. Aroma is peachy and grapefruity. Thick hoppy, grapefruity and peachy hoppy initial flavoured. Thick malty and hops fruity. Dry and bitter into the finish. Rich fruity and bitter finish. Nice.
