0.3 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before September 2023. Clear, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head and loads of floaties. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, burnt sugar and some nuts. Rather sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a bit fruity taste of caramel, chocolate, toasted nuts, some raisins and a touch of burnt sugar, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly roasty finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice classic Bock, fairly roasty for the style and not too sweet at all.

Big frothy off white head on a chestnut coloured still body. Malt, sweet & nutty aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth, oily & cloying. Malt, syrup, demerara, stewed fruit & nutty tastes. A bit too sweet.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Pours a murky chestnut brown colour with a thin soapy looking beige head. Aromas of caramel, nuts and brown bread. Taste is more of the same notes again as the aroma. Medium body with a smooth and very slightly oily mouthfeel. it’s pleasant enough.

I am not as enthousiastic as jbrus was. The aroma and taste of roasted malt was a bit too much, especially as the beer was rather dry for a Dutch bock beer. For a bockbeer it was a little on the thin side. Nevertheless a decent bockbeer. Tasted in october 2001. Blindfold test: 2005 version. Caramel aroma. Medium to full bodied. Hints of roasted malt, caramel, some hops in the background. Amaretto liquor. (6 3 7 3 13 = 3.2) Same rating for the 2006 version, tasted in nov 06. Caramel and malt in the aroma. Malty, bready caramelly flavor with some roasted malt. relatively dry for a Dutch bock. Good!

F: big, tan to tanned, long lasting. C: dark coppery, clear. A: caramel, malty, sweet red fruits, bready, bit nutty. T: malty, caramel, bit fruity, dark bread crust, bit nutty, dry on the palate, decent bitterness, medium body and lower carbonation, good one, enjoyed, 30cl bottle from Beerwulf webshop.

Bottle as a gift. Dark brown colour, thin layer of beige foam. Sweet nose of plums, caramel, melasse. Sweet with very light bitter finish. Ok, bit too sweet.

Geprobeerd met Tom van V. Het is een donkerbruin bokbier. Met weinig schuim. Het heeft een lekkere gebrande nasmaak.

Deep brown with ruby highlights. Rocky off-white head. OK retention. The foam clutches at glass. Malty & yeasty aroma. Notes of dark fruit, brown bread, marmelade. Medium body. Oily. Tastes of toast, dark fruit, a bit of roastiness, a winy note, soft bitterness in ending. A good one
