TSAR is rich and powerful, a full bodied Imperial Stout. Malty chocolate, mocha and dark berry fruit-notes preside over a subtle hop profile, whilst a smooth velvety texture in the mouth gives way to a lingering bitter, dark chocolate finish.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Swarthy black pour with the merest of brown heads. Plenty of dark choc in the nose alongside notes of figs, blackberry, roast and maybe a little smoke. Silky, fullish mouthfeel. Sweetish flavour with the roasted malts and chocolate notes in the driving seat. Barely noticable ABV and steady rollinโ€™ ballsy hop bitterness that carried on way into the finish. A real little belter of an impy. Tsar La....

Bottle courtesy of my dad consumed with dad 14th Dec 2011 Pours black with a beige head. A bitter, roasty, dirty, grubby beer, but great with it. Loads of hoppiness, some liquorice, but really bitter and roasty. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0
