Funk Metal is an unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally conditioned imperial stout fermented with farmhouse yeast, aged for months in oak barrels with wild yeast and souring bacteria, and then hand-blended with other barrel-aged beer to round out the palate. The finished beer retains aromas of chocolate and roast but takes on a distinct vinous character and sour complexity from extended aging and fermentation in oak barrels.

Draught@CBC2016. Black colour with a small head. Aroma is tart fruits, vanilla and some slight liquorice tones. Flavour is liquorice, vanilla, some tart wooden and fruity elements with a wee bit of strange spiciness. Rather mouthdrying.

0.75l bottle, Blend #9 - March 2018, huge thanks Vojta for sharing it! Pitch black body, brownish head. Minty saliva, cocoa and other malty notes in the aroma, maybe wine notes, light raisins. Lean taste, dry, cocoa, red grapes, fresh tartness, simple, well balanced, not aggro at all, just so well made, lovely!

Draft @ BXL Beer Fest. Black colour, brown foam. Nose of coffee, roasted malts, caramel, lemin, citrus, vinegar. Very roasty and sour. Strange combination, doesn't work very well
