Bottle shared at Delirium Hoppy Loft, side by side with Or. Pours black with a small thick tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate, roasted malt, molasses, light coffee and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter. Mouthfeel is thick and oily. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A little fuller and more intense than the Or.

35,5 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 12.03.2010
Aroma is rather roasted with some hops, resin and chocolate. Flavour is somewhat ashy with hops, roastiness, coffee and chocolate. Very well roasted and good, could be an imperial stout as well. Better than Or.

Bottle, from trade with HenrikSoegaard. A dark, dark brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Roasted malts, soy sauce, some alcohol, a nice hoppyness, some beefstock and a touch of roasted black pepper in the aroma. The flavor is on the roasted malty side, but with a pleasant citrus peel-like hoppyness bringing some balance. Soy sauce, beef stock and a touch of alcohol too. Full-bodied and lightly warming. Bitter finish with some citrus peel and roasted malts. A quite wonderful one. 110916

Entering old rates. 12oz bottle.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a viscous feel and almost no head at all. Aroma of oak, honey, roasted malt, alcohol, figs and quite a bit of licorice - not much hops really, those REALLY come through on the ’or’. Medium-bodied; Assertive roastiness with a lot of hops in the initial taste and they both quickly fade to an oaky, viscous dry vanilla and almost porter like feel. Aftertaste shows the alcohol warmth more than anything with a bit of toffee and caramel leftover and some mild hops finishing off the back end. Overall, a nice and strong beer that is interesting and well worth sampling. Sampled horizontally with the ’Or’ beer - which is far hoppier and more well rounded than this one, but neat to try both of these at the same time - next time i’m in Florida, I’ll try to find the other two. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits (Orange Blossom) in Orlando, Florida on 15-November-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 16-October-2011.

A viscous black ipa with a thin lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, licorice, resinous hops, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light honey, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth, still solid after more than 9 years.
