Geel bier met schuim. Smaak is zoet met speculaas aroma die chemisch overkomt. Combinatie is apart en naar mijn mening minder geslaagd.

Bottle courtesy of Amy, thank you ma’am! Smells and tastes like oatmeal raisin cookies. An interesting concept, but not for a beer, sorry. Couldn’t finish it.

Export version of the infamous biscuit beer Ultra de Noël, with a thick, moussy, yellowish white head and orange blonde, vaguely misty robe. Sweet aroma, opulently decorated with biscuit, plum loaf, gingerbread, caramel candy, banana, overripe peaches, ginger powder, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, dried orange peel and a sharp meaty smell reminiscent of meatloaf or even chicken broth. Very sweet taste of honey and ’speculaas’, caramel syrup, soft and mellow mouthfeel, sourish accent, sweetish spices, medium carbonation, finishing a bit dryish due to not too well-hidden alcohol. Original but clearly not to everybody’s taste.

Bottle @ De Zytholoog, Adegem. Brown colour with a lot of big particles (cookie?), some white foam. Soft carbonation. Very sweet aroma of cookies, ginger bread, speculoos, cinnamon, brown sugar and spices. Light bitterness in the aftertaste. Strange beer.

33cl bottle from Belgium Beers. A bit of a gusher. Thick creamy white head. Cloudy amber pour. Too sweet but it does taste of cookies. I’m on the fence on this one due to the mini gushing and the bad appearance

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour, some tiny chunks floating around; average to huge, frothy to macro-pored, diminishing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, sugary aroma, Xmas-spicy, some biscuit. Taste is sweet, notes of biscuit and Xmas spices, lots of cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and ginger. I can’t deny, I like ’Spekulatius’, even if they’re "liquid".

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy pale brown with a thin white head. Aromas are spicy - cinnamon and cardamom - some sweet malt. Taste is sweet, and more reminiscent of American cookies. Texture is creamy. Finishes with a spicy linger.
