Proud, headstrong, full of character. Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, gave all these attributes to the rebellious Ghent “stroppendragers” or noose-wearers. And what goes for the people of Ghent also goes for this strong blonde beer.

Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is wheat, fruits, grain and some hops. Flavour is rather similar with quite bready notes. Not German wheat meeting witbier and some lagerish notes.

Hazy blond colour. Big fluffly white head. Quite a fresh, sweet aroma with some hop. Flavour has some peppery and yeasty aspects. Quite dry with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma has notes of straw, alcohol, malt, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, malt, alcohol, and spices among them coriandrr and cloves leading to a dry finish.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, November 2011 consumed Sunday 12th December 2011 Pours light golden, excellent lager like clarity, large clean bubbly white head. Slight mineral edge on nose, touch of sharpness on nose not sure what it is. Soft in mouth, this definitely has a lagery edge to this, lager malts or hops maybe? Dry, clean tasting beer, again the mineral, slightly metallic side is showing, sweetness also in mouth. Not bad for a lagery Belgian Ale. A6 A5 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4

33cl bottle.

Cloudy/Hazy yellowish colour. Smells like a soapy pilsener. Taste is quite fresh though.
