With a rich amber hue and a mild fruit forward aroma, our American-style Barleywine begins with a bold kick. A robust malt profile of caramel, light fruit, and biscuits marry with heaps of Pacific Northwest hops for balance. It finishes with a refined warming glow. It's great fresh but will certainly age with grace.

Bottle - Vintage 2013 - Toffee, chocolate and a candy bar like nose. Clear copper and a light beige head. Toffee, hoppy bitterness, bitter cocoa and a long tea leaf finish. Nice American style.

2014 vintage bomber. A very malty body topped off with some tangy alcohol burn. Pours out a syrupy amber with minimal head. Malty, alcohol scent, sweet taste with plenty of alcohol warmth. Put your feet up, sip and relax.

Pretty sure this is going to be merged with the 2013, but since someone entered it, I’ll put my rating here (I never had the 2013) - Fairly standard hoppy American barleywine, along the lines of Bigfoot, but with a bit more subtlety - high bitterness, toffee-ish malt sweetness, moderate alcohol - but as it warms, notes of sherry and candied fruits make things more interesting - good, bt slightly astringent until you allow it to warm.

On tap at The Beer Mongers, pours an opaque dark orange with a medium beige head. Nose is pretty hot, with caramel, booze, and brown sugar. Flavour is similar, but without a big blast of piney hops in there to balance things out and conceal the alcohol burn - so there is an astringency from the hops on the finish, as well as a slight alcohol burn. Solid barley wine - perhaps it may improve with age.

Bomber from Belmont. Pours a clear dark copper color with a small white head. A sweet nose of toffee, some berries and spice. The flavor is mostly dry, yeasty, some mulled wine like elements, toffee, caramel, dust. Finishes sweet with berries. Warm.
