Licorice, anise, sweet roasted malts, touch of coffee. A little on the sweet side. Carb is way too high, nice mouth feel, a touch wattery in the finish.

On tap at Station Ho.st, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out chalky notes, with dry cocoa powder and some roast. Flavour is much sweeter and more dynamic, with vanilla, toasted caramel and some roasted malt. A bit of cocoa in there. Nicely rounded and bold. Good stuff.

A little syrupy. Not exactly what I like in a Baltic Porter. Pours dark clear brown with a little initial lacing and head. Finishes a little sweet. Taste is generally sweet, with some light roast malt here. Tap at brewpub on Montreal opening.

750 mL bottle shared by Kinz at the 20th Richmond Gathering. Thanks! Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of dry roast, nuts, mild tart fruity notes. The taste is chocolate, nutty notes, sweet malts, herbal hops. Medium bodied. Nice.

Aroma: Chocolate, roasted, nuts and coffee but on a very weak intensity. Appearance: Intense black with a café-creme head, average thickness, dense, with a very nice lacing. Taste: Attack is sweet with notes of milk chocolate, caramel, malted milk and honey. It is surprising how the roasted accents are not sticking out and by the same fact leaving a very weak roasted bitterness. Everything happens in sugars. Almost no wood, roast and smoke accents. Deceiving a bit.

On tap @ local option. Pours a clear dark brown with a creamy light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces beautifully. Aroma is very creamy dark grains with light coffee with a bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor is creamy coffee and dark chocolate with a bit of dry grain in the finish.

A deep dark porter with a very thin moka head. A sweet bready chocolate aroma, musky, smooth alcohol notes, dark fruits, a bit of wet dough. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with maraschino cherries, plums, some bananas, lingering coffee bitterness, dry and sustained. On tap at St-Bock, April 23rd, 2011.
