Draft - Light fruity notes and a bit of apple. Clear gold with a decent white head. Fruity esters, stone fruit, light grass and a Belgian sweet finish. Nice.

Crisp, slightly copper tinted golden coloured body with a thin, half a centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of very pale malt, a hint of grassy and herbal notes and a tiny bit of sweetness and alcohol. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic and earthy malt notes with a little sweetness and a hint of fruits with some grassy flavours finishing it off. Aftertaste shows a mostly malt flavour with hints of alcohol, sugar, grass and a little rice. Overall, not such a great beer, but somewhat refreshing. I didn’t get any of the yeast notes nor of the hoppiness. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$0.99 sampled at home in Washington on 18-June-2013.

Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow color with a huge foamy white head that lingered forever and left some lacing. The aroma was faint sweet citrus, bread and pepper. The flavor was faint tart citrus, bread and a bit of table sugar. The finish was short, tangy, citric and a bit bready. Medium body. Ok.

12 oz bottle into Trappist glass. Aroma is Belgian yeast, pepper, old books (that’s a good smell), crisp apples, some cheese. Complex, but a little subdued. Pours an almost clear gold hue with a dissappearing head that leaves a long-retaining collar of foam and creamy lace. Taste is very Belgian--sweet, peppery, no bitterness. Medium to high carbonation. Seems like a great take on a classic Belgian style. I don’t understand the low scores on here.

12oz bottle pours deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is full and fruity sweet with pears, apples and some ripe apricot to go along with a touch of yeasty spice. The taste is smooth and grainy malts cutting slowly into pears, apples and a mild level of spiciness. It gets a touch blunted tartness toward the finish to add some interest and balance.

Bottle. Pours orange yellow with large foamy head. Aroma of banana, bubblegum and citrus. Banana and bubblegum in flavour with little bitterness. Sweet fruity finish. Light body and mouth. This is low enough in alcohol to be a session beer, but too sweet for me to drink more than one or two.

That Belgian golden ale aroma - yeast, some spice, stone fruit? Copper color with a white head that laces as it films. Thin to medium body. It’s clean. It has a little hop bitter. There is light spice. Maybe light clove. The finish, though, has a decent amount of hop. Overall it’s light and enjoyable.

Bottle: Pours a deep golden color with a bit of haze. Large, bubbly white head and well carbonated. Nose of yeast, fruity, and some hops. Smooth - perhaps even silky? with a little yeast, light hoppiness, fruity, wheat, and cloves. Kind of a lighter version in a belgian ale.
