Our other famous Belgian-style offering is our Grand Cru. As with Horny Devil, it is fermented using yeast which originated in a Trappist monastery in Belgium. A darker type of Belgian candi sugar gives it more color and a richer complexity of flavor, consistent with the Belgian style. Qualities Medium-dark brown, with tan head. Sweet, malty aroma with a satisfying balance of hoppiness. Tremendously intriguing, complex flavors play upon the palate shifting from sweet to tangy to hoppy and so on. The medium-dryfinish leaves you eager for the next sip. Awards Multiple awards, including Silver and Bronze in its category at the California State Fair, multiple years.

Bottled 750ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Dark golden/amber coloured, small off-white head, malt and dried fruits in the nose. Sweet malty, dried fruits, notes of caramel, spices and wood with light touch of alcohol in the finish. Not bad at all but overrated in general.

0,75l bottle from Beergium. Clear, red brown beer with medium but quickly vanishing head. Aroma has dried and ripe fruits, malts and some alcohol. Taste has malts, ripe fruits and dried fruits, yeast and some alcohol. Also some red wine touch does exist. Quite full body. Nice beer, even if this is not the best Belgium Ale.

750 ml bottle. Hazy chestnut color. Small creamy beige head. Toasted malt nose has nutty undertones. Sweet toasted malt flavor has fruity notes. Sweet and syrupy, with yeasty, caramel, dried fruit notes. Quite delicious and truly unique.

Bottle. Dark amber colour. Aroma is raisin, too much alcohol. Lively carbonation - for me too high. Not very impressive.

0.75l bottle. Dark ruby body with a lasting beige head and floating sediment. Candi sugar comes first in the aroma followed by some dried fruits and dark fruits (dates, raisins, figs). It also has a minimal licorice to it that I don't really like but it's not that strong in this beer so I don't mind. It's spicy too (nutmeg and pepper comes to my mind). The taste is a bit more herbal and spicy than the aroma and licorice shows up here too. This is balanced with a candi sugar and caramel-like sweetness. The finish has a bit of toast and a hint of chocolate. The body is medium so as the carbonation. Great Belgian ale.
