Bottle.
Brewed under licence since 1970.
Ingredients: Water, Malt, Hops.
**Nigerian beers by law are made with a portion of sorghum. A grant has been made to aid in the growing of sorghum which the brewer will buy as it lowers the proportion of malt in its product. This is the difference in formulation between Gulder Lager (Nigeria) and Gulder Lager (Ghana).**

From old tasting notes. Medium gold color. Bubbly white head. Strange medicinal aroma. Bittersweet hop flavor dominates the palate. Interesting dry bitter character in finish. Long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from a African and Carribean food store on Wood Street in Huddersfield. Golden-amber with a thin head. Unremarkable lager, but not the worst.

Pours clear blonde, small white head. Smell is sweet, bitter touch. Taste is sharp, intense, rather bitter, grains, of course it’s chemical, but it’s not bad in fact ( it’s drinkable, unlike their ’star’ beer ) as a lager, i’d call this mediocer, which is not bad for a country tick.

Bottle from a cheap corner shop in Bedford. Big 600ml bugger. Golden, light, clear, thin and slightly flat. Smells of grain, lemon and glue. Tastes pretty good actually, there’s a defined malty sweetness that turns slightly bitter in the finish. Grain and aspartame in the aftertaste. Not as bad as you’d think.
