Black Mamba is a positive danger to all English ale lovers. As the most dangerous snake on the planet looks for its prey, this stout will sting you with its venom, which will make you want to drink more and more. Coffee in the aroma. Proper as a stout should be; dark, intense and flavourful.

Tap tasted at The Fiddler on 17/05/2014. Carbonation very soft and the taste is very water, without intensity. Deep brown colour but the head is no consistent or creamy. It´s a beer without spirit!!! Next one please!

Cask @ the Fiddler, small sample. Clear dark brown color, short head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, dark bread. Bit bitter in taste, caramelly, hint of biscuit. Enough sweetness to back up the roasty bitterness, but a bit watery finish. Ok.

Cask at the brewpub
Black color with beige creamy head. Light aroma of roasted malt. Smooth mouthfeel with gentle roasted malt and some chocolate; medium-dry, with some liquorice too; the yeast is better masked in this beer, nevertheless the final is lightly astringent.
Drinkable.

Aroma of dark roasty malts. Flavour has bittersweet coffee, cocoa. It’s a touch thin and watery but still smooth and easy to drink.

(Cask at The Fiddler, Den Haag, 21 Feb 2013) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and black rye bread. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, dark chocolate, cacao and a dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Well balanced and tasty stout. Very nice.

Cask at the brewpub shared with dEnk. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized creamy tan head. Smell and taste roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, long lasting bitterness. Quite pleasant.

Tap sampler at the Fiddler brewpub. Almost black colour, no head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, bitter chocolate, tar, vodka. Flavour is hard roasted malts, veggies, vodka, light chocolate, bitter fruity finish. Light-bodied. Decent stout.

Cask at the brewpub. Poured a "north sea crude oil" colour. I guess it was cloudy too. I couldn't tell. Thin tan head and the lace was short lived. Roasted malt aroma that developed as the beer got warmer. An interesting taste. There was chocolate, coffee, malt and molasses which probably came from the hint of bitterness that I really wasn't expecting. Black Mamba? More like Black Adder :-) Would I order another as thats the real test? I'm on the fence, but leaning towards the no side. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
