This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory—maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made at an independent brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless seltzer / fizzy yellow beer / whatever-the-hell will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make all that junk taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

We believe that pandering to the lowest common denominator represents the height of tyranny—a virtual form of keeping the consumer barefoot, stupid & led by the nose social media. Brought forth upon an unsuspecting public in 1997, Arrogant Bastard Ale openly challenged the tyrannical overlords who were brazenly attempting to keep the people chained in the shackles of poor taste. One glance around and it’s glaringly obvious: they’re winning...as of now. Yet we will not stop. Ever. Since the very beginning, Arrogant Bastard Ale has reveled in its unprecedented and uncompromising celebration of intensity. There have been many nods to Arrogant Bastard Ale…even outright attempts to copy it…but only one can ever embody the true nature of Liquid Arrogance! Hated By Many. Loved By Few.

50cl can brewed in Berlin. Smooth malty and moderate sweetish beginning. Fruity bitterness with herbal hints. Intense bittered, but round and refreshing in total. Long fruity malty bitter aftertaste, caramel, toffee, intense bittered. Great!

Murky dark amber, huge off-white head, good persistence and lacing. Aroma shows caramel malts, slight dark bread and resinous hoppiness. It's fairly intense and fresh but quite monotonous. Taste has medium sweetness, medium to high bitterness and persistent resinous bitterness in the aftertaste. Notes are of caramel, resinous/piney hops, slightest earthiness and spiciness. Medium body with average carbonation, drinks quite easily. Decently enjoyable and very much unimpressive. The only thing arrogant about this is pretentious labeling.

F: huge, tan/tanned, good retention. C: dark to dark coppery against the light, hazy. A: a lot of caramel malt, fruity, grapefruit, biscuits. T: big malty backbone, biscuits, citrus, fruity, caramel, long lasting bitterness on the palate, bit herbal/floral, bit warming alcohol, full body, low to medium carbonation, very good, really enjoyed, 50cl can as “Stone (Berlin) Arrogant Bastard Ale” from Bierwinkel De Hopduvel in Gent.

500 ml can as Stone Berlin. Served in tulip. Pours blood red, with big fluffy and firm head. Fantastic look. Bitter grapefruit aroma and some other tropical fruits, elderflower, some dark cherry, some metallic and earthy notes. Heavy hoppy bitterness. Alcohol perfectly hidden. Soft carbonated, full body. Bitter finish. Palatable. Long lasting aftertaste. This beer has character.

Can in paradise bay, Malta, from Stone Berlin brewery, nice design. Brown color, clear, thick creamy light tan head. Hoppy upfront, light toasted malts and loads of bittering hops with some charcoal earthy/rocky tones. Medium to full body, very long desert-dry finish, intensely bitter yet fairly easy to drink. Lacks of fruity overtones, really straight and bastard indeed.

Caoba nebulosa. Estupenda espuma beige cremosa, duradera. Gran aspecto.
