Sample at Haleβs in Seattle. Brownish-black pour with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Medium body with a roasty character and flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and malt. The finish is dry with a roast malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Reuben's tasting room, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is deep with rich chocolate and hearty oatmeal notes, some faint coffee notes as well. Flavour is fairly rich and creamy, with hearty notes, smooth dark chocolate and light coffee notes. Very low sweetness, which is how I prefer them. Full-bodied and creamy. Well-balanced and constructed. Great one.
