Bottle at the Zoo. Pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. A big malty floral nose. The flavor is sweet, toast, caramel, light perfume. Pretty nice.

Bottle from 2014, picked up on sale for $1.99 on Halloween ’15. Pours an amber color with light ruby tones, topped with a flimsy beige head and spotty lacing. The nose is sweet with citrus, faded citrus hops, vanilla, caramel, and what I associate most with red licorice. Taste is lightly sweet up front, finishes with moderate floral bitters. Just a hint of oxidation. Soft mouthfeel. Feelin’ pretty good about rolling the dice on this year-old bottle as it turned out to be a winner in my book.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy amber color. Pumped up Amber Ale, quite good caramel flavor, some hop resins and orange peel, good bitterness level.
Nice.

Looks promising, but falls short. Initial burst of aroma fades fast, taste also falls kind of flat. Normal frothy head, reddish amber body. Slight sticky caramel aftertaste, gentle warmth.

22 oz bottle poured and split. Pours a cloudy orange color with a big foam head and lace. Really nice hop forward aroma. I love how they say it’s good for after walking the dog, as I just did. Flavorful bitter hops. Not a typical winter ale in my opinion. Super hoppy imperial. Can’t complain. Good stuff.

Poured from the tap. Clear, light copper orange with off-white head. Some bitter peel and resin hops with very minor bready malts. Not a lot else going on.

Draft - Grapefruit hops. Clear gold with a decent white head. Earthy hops, bit boozy and some spice. A bit of heat on the throat. Not particularly great.

On tap at St Augustine's, pours a clear orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma is fairly light, with bready malts and light caramel. Flavour is quite bland, with bready malts, some boozy medicinal notes, and light caramel. Very boring and unadventurous. Not a whole lot to this one.

22oz Bottle mostly clear light brown. Sandy head. Biscuity and a bit fruity grapefruit and melon. I liked the flavors, Clean finish, a little stale and papery at the end
