Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound. Add this to my "can't believe I haven't rated this" list. This beer is a classic. A mostly clean copper reddish pour, a patchy off white foam head. I nice, warming winter brew here. Its sweet up front, but its fitting. Spicy and sweet malt combination. Very fitting for the season. Caramel, maple, lingering sweet finish. A beer I'll probably enjoy ever year from now for as long as I live around here. Not amazing, but a good winter warmer here.

Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a dark red/brown color with a nice finger’s worth of a level white foamy head. Quick dissipation. Moderate lace.
The aroma had a rich nutty maltiness with some vanilla, raisins, caramel and bread. Slightly spicy hops for balance.
The flavor leans sweet nutty initially and then opens up for more of a balance with the hops. Still, they’re not too strong and ends up creating a nice lingering bready/malty aftertaste with the spicy hops. Quick balanced finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt at the projected strength and seemed good.
Overall, nicely done English strong ale. If I could I would have this again.

Deep brown. Sweet malt, toffee, light toasted malt. There seems to be some slightly underdeveloped wet malt in this one. The booze really plays here, too. Decent.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma combines bread and biscuit notes with some sweet grains underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and a touch of caramel with some biscuit and a bit of toffee.

Draft - Toasty, nice sweetness and a touch of spice. Cloudy brown with a nice light brown head. Cocoa, toast and some spice with a light boozy finish. Chocolate, candy and light bitterness are also there. A decent winter warmer.

On tap at Rokko Beer Diner, 7.2%. It pours a dark ruby brown that is almost black in the glass with a thick fizzy beige head plus good lacing. The aroma is malty with fruity fig plus candied plum notes. Medium to light bodied with a soft smooth mouthfeel but a bit chalky. The taste is nutty, light chocolate, leathery, earthy, sweet candied fruits like apricots... Kind of getting mild fruit cake notes & hints of spices in the finish. Pretty nice enough winter warmer.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color with red shades, and creamy head. Ordinary aroma and flavor of caramel, with some malt; good body structure; it has some spices, both in the aroma and flavor, cinnamon and nutmeg apparently; bold bitterness. Good but not exciting.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours dark ruddy copper with a creamy beige head. Aroma of warm roast caramel with a touch of floral hop. Full bodied. Flavor is caramel, hint of vanilla, moving towards brown sugar, with some lightly spicy floral hop. Very smooth. Tasty.

Sampled on tap at Boundary Bay Brewpub, pours dark amber. Aroma of caramel malts, X-mas spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.) and vanilla. Flavour of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and light fruits. A slightly thin palate. Decent.

Bottle thanks to americanbrew. Pours with a hazy brown-amber body and an off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar, dates, a bit of age, molasses, and raisins. Taste is raisins, oak, currant and burnt caramel. Taste is big, large and creamy.
