Bottle: Pours a deep mahogany color with a medium, creamy beige head. Nice lacing too. Nose is malty and dark fruits with citrus. Tastes malty and sweet with bits of caramel and a light woodiness. Warms up nicely. Thanks BuckDich!

On tap at the brew pub. Dark brown color with a thin light tan head. Aromas were dark and sweet of wood and caramel. Flavors were rich and woody wth some brown sugar and oak barrels. Not too much hop bitterness and a heavy feel. Not bad.

Draught, at the brewery
Dark amber colour. Slightly chocolatey, minty, sprucy aroma - none used, though. A little bit thin. Accent is towards toffeeish, slightly chocolatey malt notes.

A well balanced body of chocolate, fig, toffee along with some soft caramel notes and a mildly hoppy finish

Light fruit malt nose. Toasted malt flavor with medium finish. The alcohol heat rather spoils the beer in this case I feel
