Released the same year as Viaemilia at the end of March 2007, A.F.O. was our second creation. The history of this beer dates back to when Giovanni Campari, brewmaster and founder of the brewery, first came into contact with the new and irresistible character of American hops. Back home, he decided to make the Ale of his dreams, which expressed a complex bouquet, fascinating but never usual. He traveled between England and Germany, visiting hop growers and experimenting, carrying out a research into the olfactory territory of hops which finally materialized in the current A.F.O.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Nice golden brown, the bubbles from the carbonation stick to the glas and there were not much of head which lowers the appearance rateing. It reminds me of a lighter version of doubble bastard but with german hops...

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of fruit, caramel and good aroma hops. Quite full-bodied, a pleasant fruitiness - peachy - and a very solid hop bite in the finish. A fine one. 030608

Test vom 30.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,10,12,12,11 - 11,00

Bottle? at GBBF 2008 Very interesting aroma in which I detected some washing up liquid, and this wasn’t as a result of a glass clean, furthermore I didn’t find this off putting. Tasted lovely in the mouth, soft but ever present hops, some fruitiness coursing through lazy but lingering bitterness, its pretty good.
