A great export classic, never boring, on the Ayinger restaurant, in Aying, on thursday. So many beers and this one was the last one, enough was enough. Really malty and smooth with a note of sweetness and bread, German hop, bitter, well balances 27.10.24

bottle. Pours lots of head with cloudy golden color. Fruity aroma. Tastes both sweet and bitter, almost like a bizarro hefeweizen.

Bottle. Gold color with a big head. Aroma was sweet honey. Taste was a sweet up front with a crisp bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a deep golden with white head. Nose is intense bread, hay and honey with some herbal hops. Taste is nicely rounded bittersweet, showing hay, honey, grass and herbal notes. Closes with a long lasting, intense bittersweet finish, has a medium to full, rich body and average carbonation. Feels bigger than the actual ABV, nice one.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Grainy malt aroma with floral hops, slight honey, some grass and hay. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Body is medium. Good Helles with a tasty floral hop aroma.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Clear gold with moderate sized white head. Aroma of straw, bready malt, a nice fresh sweet floral note. Taste of light bready malts, honey, lemon, hay, floral sweetness, modest herbal bitterness. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Very flavoursome for the style but with lemon, honey and flowery sweet notes, I found it bordering on sickly at times.
