Hopleaf Pale Ale has remained true to its recipe since 1928 replacing its equivalent Farsons Pale Ale over time. Being the first beer brewed at the Farsons brewery in Hamrun, this Pale Ale was instrumental in opening a new chapter in the history of the Maltese brewing industry, being the first locally brewed Ale.

Hopleaf Pale Ale is Malta’s bitter ale brewed with high quality malt and traditional English hops. It has a strong, fresh character with a pleasant hoppy bitterness balanced out by malty sweetness. Today this pale ale is enjoyed by mature beer drinkers and ale lovers alike. Hopleaf Pale Ale nicely complements Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine as well as traditional Maltese dishes such as roasted poultry, grilled meats and rabbit stews.

Can at Hole in the Wall. Semi golden pour with a quickly dissipating head. I don’t feel like putting more effort into this rating than it was put into the creation of this beer.

330ml can from Spar St Julians, Malta. First beer after landing, drunk on the way back to our apartment after getting supplies. Cheap lagery feel. No hop notes besides a little bitterness. Nothing to add than that.

Brak aromatu, ziołowe, ziemiste, metaliczne. Barwa złota, przejrzyste, piana momentalnie znika do krążka, brak lacingu. Goryczka zaznaczona, łodygowo-ziołowa. Lekkie, pijalne, wytrawne, ot takie zwykłe pale ale. Na słońcu wchodzi pięknie.

June 2013: 330 ml can, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 3.8%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma, notes of candy, a hint of fruity hops. Soft mouthfeel, drinkable. The flavour has a little malts and very moderate hops in the finish, so you might say it’s "approved". Not memorable though.
