0.5 l bottle from 'Britische Biere', I believe it's 2015 vintage. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish, intensely malty and quite fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes, figs and a touch of resin. Very sweet, malty, quite fruity taste of raisins, prunes, figs, molasses and some burnt sugar (don't get any smoke which is mentioned on the label), followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, almost oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Rich and heavy, very pleasant beer for the cold days.

From bottle. Beer pours dark brown, with little cappuccino foam. Aroma is inviting, with cherries and fruits under spirit. Body is medium. Taste is wonderfully balanced between sweet and bitter, going from the former to the latter. More feelings, like some chocolate and licorice. A great beer! -- rated with beerbasher/winphone

(Bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly toasty nose with crisp-bread, burnt sugar, treacle toffee, a touch of rye and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of burnt sugar, caramel, treacle-toffee, some coffee, crisp-bread, toast and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Possibly and bit hard and aggressive, but interesting and quite tasty. Quite nice.

500 ml bottle. Hazy brown color with a small tan cap. Tangy toasted malt nose. Interesting funky flavor. Notes of burnt toast, Worcestershire sauce, microwaved raisins and cardamom. Bitter hops in finish. Nuff said.

Pour is a dark muddy river water brown with a small tan head. Aroma is full of dark fruit some sticky caramel malt and a bit of smoke. Flavor is a brown sugar sweetness to start then comes a thick and syrupy malt that gives off a decent toffee and dark fruit. Finish is has a bit of and black licorice. This was a sold alt beer although it’s a bit sweet for me. Plenty of heavy, thick and chewy malt give this beer plenty of flavor.

0.33l bottle. Chestnut, offwhite head. Fruity and hoppy aroma with nutty and wooden undertones, a bit dubbel-like. Medium body, quite dry chewy body, some sparkles. Wood/barn dryness, chestnuts, citrus from the hops, light berries. I’m not too fond of the dry minerally notes, but it certainly packs some flavors.
