It’s just a helluva shock. Something that gets the adrenalin pumping like a 400 volt shot in a copper bathtub has to be good for the soul.

Join the hardcore elite, screw down the throttle and ride. Ride until your lungs bleed and your arms numb. Gun the fucker. Don’t pull back, or slow down until the crazy music starts.

Then sit, stunned, wall-eyed, open mouthed, in the realization this mother will drill you with Panzer-like efficiency. And you’ll beg for more.

Malts: Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Caramalt.
Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe / Dry Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe.

Note: First batch brewed December 2009, replacing the original Hardcore IPA in 2010.

Bottle, as Mr. President. Pours clear amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops, with notes of citrus and yeast and touches of fruit. Bitter, hoppy and grassy flavour with sweetish notes of malt and yeast, and round, fruity touches. Lingering bitter aftertaste of hops and grass, with estery notes and malty and bready hints. Warming alcohol presence. A potent but decent specimen of the style. Good work, BrewDog!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Not a great smell that ranged from West Coast hop, quickly turning into a wet beach towel after being in the sea. Nice gold colour. Boozy for boozy sake really but tasting quite mature in all. Not bad but rather have a wine for that abv

33cl bottle as “BrewDog Mr. President” from BrewDog Online Store. Finally, I am going to rate this, one of the few beers that’s started my attention about craft beers. F: medium, tan, good retention. C: amber, light hazy. A: orange, passion fruits, tangerine, pine resin, grapefruits, lychee, pineapple, bit spicy. T: a lot of fruity feeling, mango, pineapple, lychee, orange, caramel, bit honey, pine resin, long lasting bitterness, medium carbonation, very nice balanced for the style, fully enjoyed.

Mr President: pours a deep amber, with a big frothy off-white head which dissipates relatively quickly. Boozy aroma, vinous and sweet, Sherry-like, the taste is alcohol fuelled with toffee and citrus bitterness, leaves a fruity aftertaste along with an alcohol finish.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Dark amber colour with creamy off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, pine, cat pee, and a bit of sweet malt coming through. Mainly bitterness though. Taste is initially very bitter with a biscuit and caramel malt aftertaste. Bitterness is not overpowering though, plenty of fruity flavour in there too. Gives a little prickle in the mouth, but seems quite well rounded.
