Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has roasted malts and light chocolate with dark grains supporting. Flavor has bitter chocolate with dark grains and roasted malts supporting.

Draft - Roast malts and bittersweet chocolate. Deep brown with almost no head. Toasted malts and some dark fruits with a fairly dry finish. Very toasty, but not that tasty.

On tap at Dragonmead. Deep red-brown body that filters most but not all light; thin buff-colored head. Sweet milk chocolate aroma, lactose, and coffee. The milk sugar dominates the palate, reminding me of tasting lactose right out of the plastic container in high school biology class. The chocolate, coffee, and roasted notes don’t quite congeal with the lactose, but I still enjoyed the flavor. I can’t knock milk stouts.
