On tap at Mikkeller Bar. An unclear, reddish golden beer with a minimal sized off-white head. Intense piney and resiny hop aroma. Some malty sweetness and caramel hints. Sweet, malty flavor with a touch of caramel. Resiny, piney hops and a good dose of bitterness. Full-bodied, sticky and warming on the palate. Bitter, resiny and piney finish. A nice beer indeed, but too sweet I think, even considering the ABV. 110526

(Draught at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 23 July 2011) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty, hoppy nose with notes of caramel, grapefruit, orange peel and lots of fresh piney hops. Malty, fruity, hoppy taste with grapefruit, pine needles, caramel and impressive amounts of piney, citric hops in a long, bitter finish. All backed up by a generous and solid malt structure. Fairly sweet. Alcohol well hidden beneath layers of hops. Very complex and surprisingly well balanced. Lovely beer! Quite impressive!

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Cloudy dark amber color; small head. The aroma is an explosion of fruits (apricots, mango, tangerine, plums and more), with a cheesy component (mind: cheese rind, mold, cheese cellar). The body is well constructed and round; there is a strong flavor of toffee, enough residual sweetness, hop fruitiness, but also some cheese that here is less desirable (melted cheese); expected hop resins, and bitter oranges. In the final also the alcohol is perceived, but just as mouth warmer. So in the end it’s quite chaotic, but still a powerful brew, and a good one.

On tap at Beer Temple. Hazy light amber colour, off white head. Lovely fruity aroma, lots of tropical fruits, grapefruit, citrus, very juicy. Flavour is sweet, bitter, some dung/sulphur notes, sugar, loads of juicy fruity notes, citrus bitter finish. Medium to fullbodied. Nice, although the flavour doesn’t live up to the aroma.

Draught at Beer Temple. Amber pour with an off white head. Strong citrus aroma with pine and other fruits. Lovely citrus flavour with tropical fruits and a little caramel. The high alcohol content is masked very well.
