Higher gravity than a standard stout but not of imperial strength, our foreign extra stout is built on rich and roasty British malts and balanced out with a healthy addition of hops.

GABF 2014. Black; low carbonation; fine for a stout. Very heavily roasted grain, perhaps too much, giving this a burnt flavor and a hint of smoke.

Draught at the brewery
Black color with brownish head. Aroma of coffee, ashes, burnt bread. The body is not weak, but the mouthfeel is drier than expected; it focuses too much on the ashy burnt malts, and it has traces of liquorice in the final; strong bitterness.
Strong Stout, not impressive.

Dark brown, light chocolate, bit of nuts, mild, mellow, and a touch of tartness. Odd brew, not to style but not offering much either.

On tap at Wander, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma reveals lots of roasted malt - not much else. Flavour is hugely roasty, with a nicely dry palate. Mouthfeel tapers off a tad toward the end, but this is nice. Good stout.
