22 oz bottle. The beer is black with a light brown head. Lots of vanilla in the aroma. Mild to moderate bourbon barrel. Some spice. Mild roast. Some umami-ish roast oxidation. Caramel baseline. Mild but nice marshmallow action. Lots of malt sweetness. Lots of vanilla. Fudge and caramel base, which is a bit weak. Barrel is a bit stronger, more of that umami oxidation flavor as well. Mild roast and oak bitterness in the finish. Moderate astringency. Moderately full body, really needs more thick creaminess to shine. Good beer but not great.

Very good Master Blaster. Aroma is dark malt roasted barley, vanilla burnt sugar caramel. Flavor is at first taste hugely vanilla but after first taste vanilla recedes and is just like nose. Hides the strength very well. Excellent body and very clean finish. Very good drinking beer.

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head. Aroma is medium dark chocolate and vanilla. Smooth bourbon. Med+ body. Flavor is chocolate and vanilla and some moderate heat - and the bourbon is deceptively mixed in. Chocolate gets earthy towards the finish.

Bottle drunk 12/14/16.
Dark chocolate-ebony body of indeterminable clarity. Large, thick, well-retained tan head atop.
Dark chocolate fudge in the nose is met with strong roast, licorice and very dry, vinous prune-like notes. Caramel comes on strong and it finishes with vanilla, bitter cacao and fudge with definite alcohol vapors adding to the strength/intensity.
The first sip is a confounding mix of intensely sweet, chocolatey-fudge juxtaposed with bitter, astringent anise and vanilla-like notes and strong alcohol dryness. Messy, completely unrefined and extremely difficult to drink. Syrupy and cloying to start with a bitter/astringent/alcoholic finish. Awful stuff. Off to the drain it goes.

Bottleshare: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is soy sauce, roasted malts, booze. Taste is lightly boozy. No bitterness. Umaminess. Pretty smooth and easy.

Bottle shared aboard NJ Transit - incredible selection on these trains! Pours oily black with a dense, creamy beige head. The nose holds moderate roast, hearty chocolate, berries. Heavy sweet flavour with buckets of gooey chocolate, some vanilla pods, raisins, roasted malts. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with some ashy roast, bittersweet cocoa, dried fruits, saucy vanilla, more raisins. Quite solid. But this is big boy gear.

Drank bottle at home watching another crap episode of Walking Dead. Lowly dark pour not a huge head. Nose is great chocolate cake and hint of booze. tastes of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, some wood and light soy sauce. Not too sweet and semi potent. Medium carbonation.
