Good black body and soft beige foam, smells of boozy molasses and sweet barley. Flavour is more heavy sweet molasses, chewy grains. Pretty harsh and thick for five percent. No, sir, I am not impressed.

463 ml can. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of plastic, ash, and roasted malts. Flavors of lactose, creamy coffee and soft roasted malts. Good for style.

Bottle - Roasted malts, chocolate and a little anise. Jet black with a thin head. Roasted malts and light chocolate. Very mild and thin, quite refreshing for a stout.

Strong initial aroma of roasted malt. Very nicely done. But the beer doesn’t quite follow through on the aftertaste, with a light palate and weak leave. Pours black with good initial mocha head and some lacing. Finish is a little bitter and a little sour. Palate too much on the watery side. Bottle from my dad’s fridge.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, as St. Augustine’s Stout
Black color. Light burnt malt aroma. Weak body, light burnt malt flavor. Dry mouthfeel. Probably suitable to a Stout lover, not badly brewed, but quite useless to me.

On tap at the Alibi Room. Pours black with a tan head. Flavour is a sweet malt, sticky palate. Could have a bigger body. Good stout, but leaves leaves something to be desired.

Dark brown color. Dark brown head. Light roasted malt note. BAM. Roasted malts really hit the front of your mouth on the first sip, however, the palate is somewhat sour. Really good roasted character that just sits in your mouth like a firepit.

A deep dark stout with an extra thick froathy moka head. A light chocolate malt aroma, very faint. In mouth, a good dose of bitter chocolate, black coffee, light metallic notes, medium bodied. A lighht stout thats a keeper! Can. From Capflu, Dec. 2006.

Rerate Apr 20/06: On tap at Railway Club This is a whole different beer on tap as opposed to the can. Nose of carmel, butterscotch and coffee. Nice coffee/espresso profile with hints of toffee
