This Dark Sour Ale was brewed with oak smoked malts. After the boil this beer was put in a coolship, where it was allowed to cool with the night air. After one year in barrels this beer came out with notes of bitter chocolate, wood and blood oranges.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, light brown head. Aroma: Tart, fruity, leathery funk, subtle smoke. Taste: Moderate tart, fruity orange and hints of red fruit, dark malt, subtle funk, very subtle smoke. Hints of dark chocolate. Medium body, below average carbonation. Very light bitterness. Dry finish. Nice complexity.

Bottle from Alehub. Hazy red brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, heavy wood, tart and light smoked. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate acidic. Dry and moderate acidic finish. 170923

Bottle. Clear dark brow, golden big foam. Wood smoke, applewood, citrus, tart grain. Medium body, fairly foamy. Dry, roast wood, orange peel, fine smoke, tart apple candy finish.

Bottle at the Munich Ratebeer Christmas tasting, at Jonas's, Garching, Friday 17th December 2021. Pours dark brown with a filmy head of light beige. Nice aroma, a touch of burnt coffee, this transfers into the mouth. Refined, sour and smokey fine bubbles, tartness starts to pulse through. Dry and furry finish.

Big bottle at Christmas. Medium brown, decent head. Indeed a tad smoky nose with a bit of a sour hint. Flavor has big acidity, a little bit of roasted malt, very moderated sourness with no rubbery notes.

Bottle. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is mild smoke, wood, tobacco. Taste is the same, blood orange indeed, not too tart. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Very pleasant!

Smooth mild sour beginning. Intense fruity woody, intense, mild roasted with a nice fruity plum and woody aftertaste. Nice balanced sourness / fruitiness. Refreshing and mild. Nice one.

Rauchiger, mild säuerlicher Beginn. Etwas holzig, die Säure steigt an, Tamarinde. Süffig, trockener Hintergrund, gut trinkbar. 10/9/10/10/9/10
