Sour Ale Aged in Oak Casks with Cherries. Foudre and barrel aged sour ale with cherries, blended from up to 3-year-old vintages. Vibrantly red hued, filled with abundant fruit notes, and a complexity from long-term aging. This is our take on a classic Belgian Kriek.

Hazy red with white head. Sour cherries, old wood, marzipan, apple vinegar. This is pretty sour. With some bubblegummy sweetness jumping in to smoothe things.

Bottle. Color: Hazy pink-ish red, fast disappearring light pink head. Aroma: Farmyard funk, tart cherries. Taste: Medium to over medium tart fruity dark cherries, combined with farmyard and slightly leathery wild yeast funk. Vinegar notes. Medium body, average carbonation. Pretty high carbonation for a Kriek. Oak, tannins. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Sour, fruity vinegar finish. Ok, but not as balanced as most classic Belgian Krieks, a bit too sour in my opinion and too much carbonation, which is taking away some of the taste.

Barnyard, cherry, malt, and hay aroma. Cloudy red amber with small head. Mildly sweet cherry, malt, moderately sour vinegar and Brett, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body. Very nice.
