Ginger Wheat is a Belgian style wheat ale brewed with citrus and ginger with honey and natural ginger flavor added. It is unfiltered to have a natural cloudy appearance. The citrus aroma is paired with the crisp refreshing flavor of ginger. It should be served in a Wheat beer glass.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/7/2016. Pours very hazy deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big ginger, lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, biscuit, light honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of ginger, lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and yeast/ginger spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of ginger, lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, coriander, pepper, clove, wheat, biscuit, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a good malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%; but there is a bit of building ginger heat through the glass on the finish. Overall this is a good spiced witbier style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and fairly refreshing to drink. The aromas were pretty big on the ginger notes; but the flavors were much more balanced. Tasted like a standard witbier with the ginger complimenting the base style. A nicely enjoyable offering.
