Bottle: Black with a small tan head. Dark cherry/berry, chocolate aroma. Taste id bitter-sweet dark chocolate malt, black cherries, and a little bit of over-cooked bittering. Not as heavily bodied as expected..... Some alcohol dryness and harshness........a pretty nice sipper for this big of a beer.

I got this bottle from joe1510. Thanks Joe!

This pours..whoah, caught it in time. It started to slowly, thankfully, gush out of the bottle. I didn't lose a drop. ;^)

It looks black but on closer observation, I can see brownish hues so I'll call it a very dark brown. Nice billowy head of tannish foam that forms a Devil's Tower on the top of my glass. Great head retention and there's plenty of sticky lacing.

The smell has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and some citrus hops in the background. A good nose overall.

The taste has huge notes of roasted malt. wow. Besides that, I get coffee, chocolate, maybe a touch of dark fruit, and some hop bitterness right before the finish. Quite complex and quite tasty though I think the roasted malt may be a tad overdone here.

Mouthfeel is medium, carbonation is fairly light, it finishes bitter with both roasted malt and dark chocolate. Lots of warming going on here from the alcohol. This would be a nice one to fall back on in the dead of winter.

Overall, it's a tasty brew that I think would be even better if it wasn't so darn roasty. Oh well, I'll still recommend that you give it a try.

Bottle. Cherry, chocolate caramel malt, and dry hay aroma. Very dark brown with large tan head. Moderately sweet cherry/orange, chocolate caramel malt, and moderately bitter herbal hay flavor. Body a bit light for an imperial stout. Not as bold as the average imperial stout but very nice taste.

12oz bottle. The aroma is warm and hints at the big chocolaty alcohol within. The taste is quite smooth though. When I had this at the bar, I estimated it was around 8.5% or so. Creamy, mellow carbonation and very little hop character. Smooth, drinkable, challenges the sipper notion. Malty, almost a touch lactic, traces of Milk Stout.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Very dark, almost black color; medium head. There is some dusty aroma of roasted malts, barley coffee, light acidity. Good mouthfeel, quite smooth, but also too acidic, with quite strong roasted malt flavor, but a bit too dry and sour at the end; strong chocolate flavor too; the final is a bit creamy, which elevates a bit the fortune of this beer.

From bottle, blind #20. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Dry wooden hoppy aroma, light roasted too. Liqourice, roasted malt and subdued sweetness to a distinct crisp hoppy base flavour. Bitter and roasted malt flavoured finish with a lasting liqourice impression. Nice one.
