Melt My Brain is an experimental Golden Ale brewed with coriander, juniper berries, limes and blended with Short’s made tonic water to create the tasting experience of drinking a gin and tonic cocktail. Delicate aromas of citrus and pine flow into bold bright flavors of sweet lime with a slightly sticky bitterness. Refreshing and clean, a tasty tonic effervescence provokes the palate for more.

Pale straw color, very thin appearance. A refreshing drink, but I wouldn’t know it was a beer if I hadn’t opened the bottle myself. The juniper and tonic dominate. Overall, an interesting experiment but not a beer I need to have again.

Bottle: Clear, very pale gold with a small white head. Lime, juniper, lemon aroma. Flavour is nicely tart....juicy...lime, juniper berry. Nicely acidic, as well, sweet-tart citrus.... Grows increasingly sour and bitter as it warms.......refereshing and interesting with a great taste......very enjoyable.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a medium yellow color with a medium sized fluffy off white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart and sour with a margarita presence. The flavor was tart and sour with salt and margarita. Long salt and margarita finish. Medium body. Refreshing.

Bottle. Primarily lemon-lime aroma with quinine, berry, biscuit malt, and juniper notes. Yellow with small head. Moderately sweet lime-lemon, juniper, light coriander, malt, and moderately bitter quinine flavor. Very nice - like a light gin gimlet.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 3/2/2016. Pours fairly hazy pale straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big tart lemon, lime, juniper berry, coriander, tonic water, salt, light wheat/cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruit/spice, fruity yeast, and light pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart lemon, lime, juniper berry, coriander, tonic water, salt, light wheat/cracker, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate citrus peel/spice bitterness and fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, juniper berry, tonic water, salt, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit/spice, fruity yeast, and light pale malt flavors; with a great bitter/tartness balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. High amount of dryness from bitter/tartness as well. Medium-high carbonation and light body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruit/spiced blonde ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruit/spice, fruity yeast, and light pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
