As our production and maintenance guy here at the brewery, Tom kept his beer nice and focused: a strictly Citra, single-hop IPA. This batch of Tom’s finest hits the glass coppery-gold with a loose, off white head, kicking out huge tropical fruit and lime aromas with fruity ester notes from the British ESB yeast strain. The medium-light body delivers assertive orange, lime, and grapefruit flavors, followed by hints of biscuity malt. Altogether, My Turn: Tom makes for a bold, hoppy, yet refreshing summer sipper.

Tom will pair his beer with a candy bar after a long day, but My Turn: Tom will go farther than that. The Citra hop profile marries well with a plate of grilled pork or chicken, mango, and papaya kebabs. This IPA will wash down a grilled Portobello mushroom buger with melted Wisconsin cheddar cheese nicely, too.

Bottle. Earthy metallic grapefruit peel and orange caramel malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with large off-white head. Sweet old orange juice, malt, and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Decent body. Hop nose on the harsh side and tastes old.

Bottle: Hazy, amber-orange with a thin white head. Slightly bready orange aroma. Orange malt, light tropical fruit flavours. Sweet, with a hint of orange-peel. Nice tasting, but nothing really jumps out of this one.

Pours gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Tropical fruit aromas. Soft with sweet pineapple and mango front to back.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber/goldish color. Decent head and lacing. Nice and mellow APA this is. It has nice citrus notes backed with a sweet caramel malt. The hops cut thru the sweet malt nicely, but dont really live up to IPA standards IMHO. Light bodied with average carbonation and pretty low bitterness. Ok.

12oz bottle. Orange-copper body, floaties. Foamy off-white head. Really nice aroma. Pretty boldly hopped, soapy citrus tones. While this is better than most Lakefront beers, it is still kind of boring and tame. As it is pretty par for the course in 2015. OK. Touch of butterscotch caramel in the finish alongside the citrus hop tones.
