Bottle. Pours cloudy coffee brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of coffee and malt with notes of roast and liquorice. Bitter, roasty onset, giving way to sweetish notes of caramel malt and coffee, receding into a hoppy finish. Bitter and slightly roasty aftertaste. Not bad.

Neutral-roasted nose. The beer starts smooth, dark, hints of sourness that makes it quite drinkable. But not too deep in aroma. Espresso and chocolate hints, but not too deep. The aftertaste is not too long, malty-roasted, but not too deep.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, average sized light brown head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma doesn’t have as much coffee as I had expected and hoped. In fact, it’s quite a challenge to detect coffee at all. I get malts, lightly roast and alright, slightly coffee. Taste malts, some more coffee now and a light bitterness. Decent body, medium carbonation. Surprisingly well done.

(bottle, 33cl) Black colour with a brown and firm medium-sized foamy head. Leathery roast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and candied mocha beans. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Moderately roasted malty base with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice; roasty bitter finish, not really dry with a present residual sweetness, backed by flavours of coffee and dark chocolate. Likeable Stout. 29.V.14

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, brown head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of burnt caramel, lovage. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, minimally salty, minimally tart, a cautious touch of cardboard; smooth palate, creamy texture, soft carbonation, excellent mouthfeel. Strong concerning formality, slightly weak concerning taste.
