A beer based on an original recipe of a long-time chief brewer and president of Chodovar brewery Mr. Jiří Plevka Sr. This beer is a real president of pale lager beers, connecting the best taste qualities of sweetish South Bohemian lagers and refined bitterness of Pilsner beer types. An expert board awarded this lager the „Prize of Czech Brewers 2002“. It is a true example of the beer style of classic pale Czech lagers.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light hoppy, green grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20100417]

Bottle @ Brugmansia/Fonefan Tasting, April 2010. Pours clear yellow with a creamy egg white head on top. Aroma is straw, grass and buiscuit. Flavor is dry and grassy with a bit of metal and svovl. Medium bodied. Ok

Bottle, 5%. Clear golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is roughly bitter. Has some grain. Rough and harsh, not so pleasant. Watery finish.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet and rather malty combined with a light note of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also a light note of straw. The body is thin.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Bov. Clear, deep golden with a white head. Fantastic rich and full malt aroma. Medium body with very clean yet almost fruity malt accents. Has a great, floral hopping and also quite some bitterness. Excellent!. 150807

50 cL bottle. Pours clear golden and with a lacing white head. Sweet, grainy and slight butterscotch aroma. Slight hope and malty flavour, slight dry finish. As such nothing wrong, but this is mediocre to bland for me.

Not pasteurized. Golden colour, large head. Very malty aroma and very malty flavours indeed, bit not sweet. Dry finish, malty aftertaste. Very full-bodied, lovelly.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden colr with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity and slightly sweet malty aroma with some hints of hops. Sweet malty flavor with some hints of grain and caramel. Sweet malty finsih with hints of caramel and some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle provided by pivnizub - thanks!Deep golden low on carbonation, low offwhite creamy and lacing head. Strawlike, earthy and honeyish malt aroma balanced against fine hops. Initially thin body which slowly fill up with grainy malt flavors, earth, a bit cardboard, citric and herbal hops. Fells slightly flat. Heather-honey aftertaste.

Bottle (bought at Pivni Galerie, Praha): Deep golden colour, medium-sized white head; some floral hoppiness and some honey in the nose; mild, honeyed malty taste, sweetish-bitter flavour; light, but distinctive bitter-sweet finish; starts great, becomes a littl flat towards the end; all in all a pleasant, clean, decent brew.......
