Winter Axis FestivÁle brings a different spin on a traditional Belgian Abby Ale each year. 2016’s version is deep gold in color with the aroma of snickerdoodle cookies, this beer has mild sweetness up front with a hint of cinnamon in the finish and is brewed strong enough to stand up to winter’s chill. Pair with roasted chicken, chili and spice cake.

Bottle. A- Grains, corn, grassy. A- Pale orange color, hazy liquid, off white head. T- Spices, grains, unbalanced. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, unbalanced finish. O- I hope there was something wrong with the bottle I had otherwise this was just plain awful. Lots of spice and unbalanced on the palate and just nothing good to say about it. Like a pale lager with a random mix of spices and herbs thrown in.

Bottle @ home. Cloudy, red-orange appearance with an off white head that disappears pretty quickly. Toasty, fairly rich caramel malty, quite sweet, albeit it boring aroma. Fairly thick mouth feel. Big caramel, thick grassy, rich, sweet malty flavor. I’m not digging it.
